I like beer. On a quick stopover in Ashland, Oregon we hit up the Caldera Brewery tap house to sample a few brews on a cold wet evening.
Among the favorites were the Dry Hop Orange (delightfully hoppy but not overwhelming) and the Pilot Rock Porter (smooth, chocolatey, and delicious)! Caldera is one of the few breweries to put good beer in cans. Cans let in less light which keeps beer fresher and are also much more portable, not to mention better for hanging on a tree!I’m not sure what I was expecting the tap house to be like, but I was surprised. It felt like entering someone’s basement at a house party. Kids ran around playing, relaxed adults in beanies gave each other hugs and hung out on couches surrounding a warm festive fireplace. It was cozy and comfortable with epic food and great beer.
If you find yourself in Ashland, definitely stop by!

“…relaxed adults in beanies gave each other hugs…”
Sounds like they were selling “love potion number 9.”
